What to expect

What To Expect when you visit our clinic

On your first visit to our clinic you will be greeted by a member of our reception staff. They will ask you to complete some intake paperwork. (All personal information is held according to General Data Protection Regulations, and we have been registered with data protection since 2008.)

When your practitioner is ready to see you, you will be invited into the downstairs treatment room for chiropractic services, or the upstairs treatment room for massage services. (If you are concerned about using stairs, please make the reception staff aware when you call to book an appointment.)

If seeing a chiropractor:chiroroom-sm

Your chiropractor will take you through a complete medical history and physical examination related to your problem. If safe to do so, we will start treatment on the day as well. This appointment generally lasts between 40-50 minutes.

We will tell you what your problem is, known as a working diagnosis, and what treatment approach we think will best help you.

Treatment is done through light clothing so there is no need to fully undress, although we may ask you to remove heavier clothing and anything metal (sharp belts, shoes, jewellery etc.)

If seeing a massage therapist:

Your massage therapist will take your through a condensed medical history and targeted physical examination and begin treatment on the day, if it is safe to do so. We will tell you what your problem is and how we can best help you.

You will be asked to partially disrobe to make massage of the affected muscles possible. Towels will be provided for your modesty.

If you prefer you can bring loose fitting shorts or sports clothing and where possible your therapist will work around these items. Some soft tissue work is possible through light clothing and if you are concerned about disrobing please speak to your therapist.

Referral to another health care provider:

If your problem requires additional support from another health care provider, we will refer you as appropriate, for example to a massage therapist, chiropractor, podiatrist, or GP.

If your problem requires imaging (x-rays, MRI, CT scan, ultrasound) we will refer you back to your GP to arrange these. Copies of any imaging can be requested from the hospital and reviewed with your chiropractor. There will be a charge for this service that is made by the NHS trust.

When you visit our clinic for follow-up treatments, you will be greeted by our reception staff and invited to have a seat and relax until your practitioner is ready to see you. We provide a range of magazines and reading material in our reception area.

We do our best to keep to scheduled appointment times, but please keep in mind that things happen in daily practice that are beyond our control, and sometimes we get behind schedule.

For clinic fees and payment options, please speak to a member of reception staff. We also have a printed list that will be provided to you on your first visit.

Having played sport professionally in my younger and days and still being pretty active, I have racked up my fair share of injuries which rumble on. Rob, however, used his magic hands to completely fix a few that have been bothering me for quite a while. Highly recommendedRead MoreKarina
